STOREFRONTS FILL UP ON LAKEWOOD RANCH'S MAIN STREET
Although construction continues on some of the biggest tenants in Main Street at Lakewood Ranch -- a gourmet market and a movie theater -- the storefronts that line the brick walkways are almost full.
Pat Westerhouse, Main Street at Lakewood Ranch's general manager, says about 80 percent of the stores are open, with more shops expected to start operating next month and into the fall.
New to the outdoor shopping district are beachwear, shoe and accessories retailer Endless Summer and golf apparel and accessories store Main Street Golf.
They join stores such as The Perfect Pair, a boutique run by Monda D'Ambrosio, a veteran of the Sarasota area retail scene who previously operated a store on Siesta Key.
Other stores open on Main Street include children's bookstore Little Bookworms, gift and accessories store Wish, and boutique Bella Rae, a mother-daughter venture run by Debra and Kalena Aegerter and featuring brands such as Trina Turk.
Next month, two familiar names are expected to join the center, designed to look like a well-manicured downtown with two-story shops and attractive street signs.
The Pineapple House, a home decor store and interior decorating resource with stores already open in Westfield Sarasota Square and Westfield Southgate, is expected to add its third local shop there in August.
Ana Molinari Salon & Spa, also expected to open next month, further expands the salon's presence in the area. Ana Molinari already has salons in downtown Sarasota and on Longboat Key and is expected to open one on St. Armands Circle.
Morton's Gourmet Market, Annabelle's Home & Kitchen and Lakewood Ranch Cinemas are also expected to open this summer, followed by Fred's Restaurant & Ballroom, Ritz Camera & Image, audiovisual store AVC Concepts, shoe store New Balance and children's boutique Cuddlebugs this fall.
